Building up believers and the New Testament church

The Body of Christ - A Glorious Reality

"Now you are the body of Christ, and members individually" (I Corinthians 12:27). This statement by the apostle Paul has tremendous implications to us when we begin to consider it seriously before the Lord. The truth of this statement is taught throughout the New Testament in many different ways, and has a direct bearing upon our whole lives. To many people, salvation is knowing the forgiveness of sins, heaven as my final home, and a certain religious form that I go through until my life on earth is done.

While it is true that Christ forgives sins when we repent, and that to be with God for eternity is the blessed hope of every believer, these thoughts fall way short of the center of God's mind for the believer. We want to consider God's thought in the body of Christ, with a prayerful desire that the revelation of God's purpose may expand in our hearts and give us direction in our life in God.
